The Brief

Design a book.

Overview

For this project, I wanted to answer the question, what is Hinduism? What does it mean to other people? What does it mean to me? I interview 10 people, that have connections to both India and America to understand how their lives were affected by Hinduism, and how they adopt its philosophies now,

The Outcome

I interviewed 10 different people and gathered their insights into different categories. The main challenge with this project was deciding how to present the abundance of content I gathered. In the end, due to the similarities in their answers, I rearranged the content to mimic conversations between my interviewees, with each spread being dedicated to the question - Hinduism is...

The final product is a book with a trim size of 16 inches by 6 inches. The large page size is meant to feel like meditation as you make your way through each page. The line ties the conversations together and represents varying amounts of tumultuous energy towards the religion.

The Process

My process included interviews, content curation, page design, and physically creating the book. I couldn't use traditional book binding methodologies as the pages themselves were too large.
